This Sunday we are helping another group of Men complete their Father to Son Commitment Ceremony. Our Group of Men decided that what better way to share this gift then to lead another group through the Six week class and help them get started. I will write more on this next week. I also am uploading the RMDK Certificate i created for them. Maybe someone else can use it.

Raising a Modern Day Knight Ceremony

I thought I would share my notes from our Recent RMDK Ceremony for Desmond. It was an awesome time of faith and calling him to serve Christ.

Brothers we are at war, in a fight for our eternal lives and for the eternal lives of our family and friends.

Ephesians 6:12-14 (New International Version)

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

In the study we learned the each man has three things that he is called to do to reach significance. To feel as though he has met the goal of his life.

They are:
A Willingness to obey, obey god and your elders
A job or task to accomplish, gods plan for your life
a woman to love, help mate to raise a family in the name of God

We also learned the a man of god has four core expectation

• To REJECTS PASSIVITY/ do not stand by on the sidelines get in the help.

• To ACCEPTS RESPONSIBILITY/ Only you have the power to make the right choice for you life.

• To LEADS COURAGEOUSLY/ stand firm in your beliefs and lead others to Christ through your willingness to serve.

• To EXPECT THE GREATER REWARD, GOD’S REWARD

2 Timothy 4:7-8

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to one, but also to all who have loved his appearing.

"Make vows to the Lord your God, and fulfill them." (Psalm 76:11)

Vow of the Knights of the Round table
from King Arthur

I vow in GOD'S HOLY NAME:
To fear GOD and defend the realm with honor and with might;
to do battle against all evil doers, but never in a wrong cause.
I will defend the helpless, protect all women,
and be merciful to all men.
I will honor my words and speak no slander.
I will be true in brotherhood and faithful in love.
All this I do in the HOLY NAME OF ALMIGHTY GOD.

We are in a fight for our Eternal lives, pick up the Sword of the Spirit, and stand fearless in the Gap for your family. As Jesus Christ did for you on the Cross, He stood in the gap and choose death so that we might live.

Leadership (servanthood)

Wow, Cole's message Amp'ed - Shocking Service this week was spot on. I thought I would take a few minutes and talk about what it means to be leader.

Why are you serving? Why are you waking up 2 hours early and coming in to helping get the church setup? Why are showing up 45 minutes before service to greet the early guests? WHY?

I will tell you why, because you are a leader, you see a need and you take care of it. You approach everything from a whatever it takes attitude. And that is AWESOME!!!

Here is the rub, getting tired of it, you don't see any fruit from it. You are blind to the good that is happening. WHY? Tired, burnt out, and the price seems to high?

Because at some point you crossed from being energized about the opportunity to serve and fell into the rut of an obligation. That is a dangerous place to be, because your attitude suffers and those that are watching you see a transformation happening and they begin to question whats going on as well. Life is about opportunities to influence and our attitude directs whether it is a positive or a negative impact .

What we have to do is find a way to bring it all back into perspective, ask youself why did I start serving? Was it for me? Was it for others? was it for GOD?

A little perspective is all it takes sometime. Usually the fall begins with frustration. How do you handle frustration? Well I guess it depends on your Attitude about the thing you are doing?

Example, I love to golf but I am not very good. I sometimes I get very frustrated with how I am playing, but you never here me say, That I am going to quit. WHY? because I LOVE to Golf. It's that easy.

So approach your opportunities to serve from the view point of I love GOD, and because I Love him, it doesn't matter how hard I have to work at something or long it takes. I will do it, because I love him.

When the opportunity to serve is presented remember, the best way to return Gods love is to serve him, remember that God said whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.

I interpret that to mean, Serve you family, neighbor, guest and enemy with compassion, caring, understanding and love. Meet their needs as if they were Gods. Serve them where they are at in their life and LET GOD DO THE REST.

God Bless

John Maxwell Leadership Event

Yesterday I had the privilege of sitting in a leadership class for Celebration Church In Georgetown Texas in which John Maxwell recorded a Maximum Impact Club session for leaders around the world. The topic was "People will Summarize Your Life in One Sentence - Pick It Now!", This happens to the the topic of the final chapter (26) of his book Leadership Gold and is very good.

The goal of the lesson was to encourage us to begin writing our "Life Sentence". Dr Maxwell told us of a study in which 50 people over the age of 95 are asked a single question, "If you could live your life over again what would you do different. As you can guess there was may different answers but there was 3 themes through out the answers.

1. If I had it to do over, I would reflect more.
2. If I had it to do over, I would risk more.
3. If I had it to do over, I would do more things that would live on after I am dead.

We as humans live our lives longing for meaning and purpose in our life. We each have a want, and that is to leave this world a little better then it was when we started life.

In Psalm 39:4 it says Lord make me to know my end ..., that I may know how frail I am.
In Psalm 90:12 it says So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

We need to be clear in our hearts that our days are number and must always be learning and willing to adapted to the world around us.

Dr. Maxwell says a few things about perspectives of life to help us write our life sentence.

1. Life is brief, we need face the fact that it can be taken from us at any moment.
2. Life is difficult
3. Life is like a book the title is your name the preface is your introduction to the world and the pages are a record of you efforts, trials, pleasures, discouragements and achievements. All you can do is live fully so that when the book reaches the end, it can be said that it was filled with purpose, service and a work well done.
4. Life compounds, there is choice in everything you do, so keep in mind that in the end the choices you make, make you.

Last but not least Dr. Maxwell spoke about the Priorities for your life.

1. Today, Live Life Fully
2. Today, Live Life Thankfully
3. Today, Live Life Faithfully
4. Today, Live Life Thoughtfully

So the question is when your life is at an end and your reflect on where you have been and what you have done, What did you do with the gift of living? Your life sentence should be the answer to that question.

One last thing: Is your mission on earth fulfilled today? the answer; if you are ALIVE, then your mission/purpose is not complete.

God Bless
